My approach to treatment

People come to therapy for many different reasons that range from having a sense of unease and dissatisfaction with one’s life to a clearer experience of anxiety or depression.

Each of us comes with an urgency and a request for compassion when we are ready to look at our problems. My approach to treatment is centered on a fundamental appreciation of the human mind and your unique experience.

Psychotherapy:

I will help you reflect on and understand your deeper personal motivations and how they impact personal relationships and choices. You can use this understanding and experience to enhance meaning and enjoyment in your life. This work usually requires meeting weekly.

Psychoanalysis:

You may be surprised by what you learn about yourself in psychotherapy and wish to pursue a deeper understanding of your unconscious motivations and conflicts. I will assist with your psychological exploration that may lead to increased insight into your behaviors, thoughts and emotions. This is a more intensive investment usually requiring several sessions per week.
